Breaking Bad itself has established a global fanbase, there are community pages, YouTube videos and many memes circulating the internet once again proving its popularity. Sherlock on BBC one was watched by an average of 9.2 million people, it peaked at 9.7 million in the first 5 minutes. These high figures once again prove the popularity of these TV thrillers, both in the UK and globally. ‘The Perfect Couple’ generated 1.9 billion viewing minutes, and the viewership was driven by an audience that was 70% female.
